A project born from the need to turn a newly acquired house into a true home. A dream of living in a space that reflects who they are—where they feel embraced and understood. Something the clients deeply longed for, but didn’t know how to achieve.

Lovers of Asian culture, animals, technology, the nautical world, and aviation, they embarked on this adventure with CODOOSTUDIO to create their new home.
The starting point was a newly built single-family house of nearly 300m², just handed over. The original finishes were those typical of a standard development—soulless and lacking character. Everything felt cold and disconnected.

This began as a furniture and decor project, but eventually evolved into a full interior design process. Though not a complete interior overhaul—since many of the materials couldn’t be changed (everything was brand new!)—the challenge lay in finding a design solution that struck the right balance between the existing features and our creative proposal to achieve the desired result.
In this project, natural light became our greatest ally. With east-west orientation, the home enjoys long hours of sunlight throughout the day. At first glance, light didn’t seem to be a standout feature—due to the materials and tones used, everything appeared mostly white and gray. So, the idea was to enhance that light and use it to our advantage.

How did we do it? By using a palette of soft, neutral tones that created a true “greige.” This allowed the natural light to come alive, creating subtle shifts and highlights on the furniture as the day progressed. Fabrics like linen and cotton helped immerse all five senses in a genuine feeling of home.
Material and texture choices were always guided by the goal of creating a warm, welcoming space—using durable finishes fit for their two pets, who are the real kings of the house.  :)
The layout was a key element—affecting everything from lighting points to the proportions of the spaces and the placement of furniture. The house was a typical real estate development, filled with meaningless features and light fixtures that illuminated “nothing”.

So, we dove deep into understanding how our clients truly live, in order to transform this house into a fully personalized home.
When it came to the furniture, we also had to strike a balance between existing pieces and our design proposal. From transforming a large marble art piece into a coffee table, to turning an airplane part into a true museum-worthy sculpture, and giving new life to a family heirloom dining table that now makes the kitchen one of the most special spaces in the home.

A house filled with custom-designed furniture by CODOO STUDIO, complemented by subtle touches of iconic designers.

Casa Rayo tells the story of the people who live in it—a home where a new chapter begins, filled with the things they love.
